Tena koutou tena koutou tena koutou katoa

Thank you for your understanding and support on our second Teacher Strike Day. We appreciated the toots and waves of support as we picketed and marched on Tuesday. It would be ideal if I could inform you that this is the end of the industrial action, but at this point, the next steps are unclear. The government has come back with a slightly enhanced pay offer and a promise of 600 SENCO positions nationwide (for 2,500 schools). Unfortunately, there is nothing in the offer to address teacher workloads and improve teacher recruitment and retention. The next step of the negotiation is to hold a ballot where teachers vote to accept or refuse the latest offer. The ballot will be held in two weeks time. If there is to be any further industrial action, it is likely to be early next year.

2018-19 Summer Reading Programme Year 3, 4 & 5 Students
It’s that time of the year again!
We are offering this awesome opportunity for all of our year 3 , 4 & 5 students. Each child will receive 8 – 10 books at or above their reading level to read during the school holidays. These books are theirs to keep.
We are holding an information evening at 5-6pm in our school hall on Wednesday 21st November 2018.
Each year 3 , 4 & 5 child that attends this meeting with an adult whanau member will be given a $10 warehouse voucher.
