Lana Wolfgram (2)

Happy New Year and welcome to Totara Grove School 2019. I hope everyone enjoyed the glorious weather over the holiday period. Welcome to our new students and their families. Thank you for choosing our school; we are looking forward to getting to know you better. It was great to meet some of you at the powhiri.

There are three new teachers on the staff this year. Wiremu Hohaia is teaching a Year Five/Six class in Room Twelve, Rosina Leuluai is in Room Six with a Year One/Two class and Sandi King is in Room Four, also with a Year One/Two class. We are very pleased to welcome them to our teaching team.

Our teachers have lots of exciting learning experiences planned. Keep an eye out for class or team newsletters during the next few weeks.

Please remember we have an open door policy. Teachers are always happy to see parents before and after school. If you have any questions or concerns please make an appointment via the office to talk to your child’s teacher, the principal or a member of the Leadership Team.

We are looking forward to seeing you all at the ‘Meet-the Teacher’ Have a Go Evening on Tuesday 12th February.

As we are a Sunsmart school, children are expected to wear brimmed hats when outside in the sun during summer. Each class has a set of hats which are allocated to individuals. Children are allowed to wear their own hat as long as it has a brim all the way around. Baseball-type caps are not allowed.

We also encourage children to bring a water bottle to school which they can refill during the day.

2019 Stationery

Poster_Tile (002)We are now partnering with Officemax to do our stationery for 2019.

Here is the link for online purchases:

Please pay your school donations of $25 per child or $40 per family and the $10 paper levy per child directly to the school office. We also have bathing caps for $3.50 each.

Guitar Lessons

Hello, my name is David Meredith. I have been teaching the guitar in several schools in the Whangarei area since 2006. In this time, I have helped many of my students to achieve great successdownload locally and nationally. Learning the guitar has been proven to be beneficial for children for many different reasons. During 2019, I am offering my guitar teaching skills at Totara Grove school.

If you are interested in enrolling your child to have lessons with me, or want to find out more details, please contact me on 027 3832633, 09 4343459 or contact me at

I look forward to hearing from you
