Tēnā koutou, tēnā koutou, tēnā koutou katoa,

At this time of the year we look back and reflect on the year that has been.

2020 will certainly go down in the history books!!

It is nice to finish a rather hard year with events and activities to celebrate our year of learning and achievements.

The Police Education Officer, Ian Anderson, organised a day at the Aquatic Centre for our road patrollers. This was a thank you for their dedication to making our road safe for tamariki to cross.

The librarians from our school who have achieved their golden librarian award are going to a ceremony at the Whangarei Library on Thursday with Mrs Fryer and Mrs Irene to acknowledge their achievements.

All the children in the school are to be commended with the way in which they have shown resilience this year amongst all that has gone on.  They have managed to keep progressing with their learning as well as adapting to the changes occurring due to COVID.

We look forward to celebrating with you in a more formal way at our prizegiving on Monday 14th December at 10am at Tikipunga High School.

We have included the year in photos for you to reflect on the year with us.

Incredible Years Parenting Programme

This course begins again in February. The incredible years kaupapa is a parenting programme aimed at helping parents have a better relationship with their children and stimulate their child’s development. Parents say their children’s misbehavior decreases and they have a happier family life. If you wish to participate in this programme, leave your name and contact details at the office and Whaea Dianna will get back to you.

Summer reading programme

We are offering this awesome opportunity for all of our year 3, 4 & 5 students. Tonight, Wednesday 25th November at 5:30 there will be a parent meeting to find out about this program. All parents and students are invited to come along. Any year 3, 4 & 5 student that attends this meeting with an adult or whanau member will be given a $10 warehouse voucher. This is a wonderful programme that really helps keep your child’s reading progress on track over the summer holidays.

Scholastic Book Club

Any orders for the current scholastic book club brochure (issue #8) need to be back in to school by Monday, 30th November. Please return the order form with the child’s name, room number and the correct money owing. Orders past this date can be made directly online, however they won’t be delivered through the school and postage costs will be added to your order.
