Tēnā koutou, tēnā koutou, tēnā koutou katoa,

Another year of learning comes to an end. It is awesome to be able to celebrate the year that has been and the progress of the tamariki.
Our school prize giving takes place next Monday the 14th of December at 10am at Tikipunga High School. We hope you can come along and join in with us as we bring our year to a close.

Staffing Update
I would like to take this opportunity to thank Whaea Jacinda for her work in the Middles team this year. She is leaving us to take up a position at Kaikohe East School next year. We wish her well in her new kura.
Whaea Melissa has also worked in the Middle team this year. She has been covering Whaea Casey as she has been an Across School Leader in our Kahui Ako. We also thank her for her contribution to the team.
Whaea Casey and Whaea Charlotte leave us to go on maternity leave. We cannot wait to meet their new babies in the future. Best wishes for this new chapter for you both.
Matua Jon the IHAD Navigator for Year 6 leaves our kura to follow our Year 6 students on to Tikipunga High school.
Thank you Whaea Girlie who has been covering for Whaea Rosina while she also is on maternity leave. We have not had news of a baby yet but it can’t be too far away.
Congratulations to Matua Wiremu who has completed his 2 years of beginning teacher training. We acknowledge his hard work and dedication on his educational journey.

Just a reminder that next year we have joined the free healthy, daily school lunch programme. The lunches will be available for all our students in 2021. However, lunches are not compulsory, and you can continue to provide your child’s own lunch if you wish.

Unfortunately Fonterra Milk in Schools programme comes to end at the end of 2020 and will no longer be available for our students.

We were lucky enough to be the recipients of funding from Ray White “We Can Help With That”, to be able to purchase 10 scooters and helmets and 6 skateboards and helmets to be used at break times next year. Here is Tyler with our new purchases. Thank you Ray White!!

Thank you to each and everyone of you for your contributions to our kura. E waka eke noa – we are all in this together.
Have a safe and enjoyable Christmas break – we look forward to seeing you all again in the new year.

Tuia Mātauranga Roadshow visit at Kiwi North with our school council leaders ‘Ngā Maramara ō Tōtara’

We visited the Tuia Matauranga truck at Kiwi North with our school council leaders ‘ Ngā Maramara ō Tōtara’. We had an awesome visit learning all about the history of Aotearoa,  the narratives, navigation, waka exploration, maramataka, place names, Te Tiriti ō Waitangi, native plants, birds and distinctive rangatira (leaders) of the past. The tamariki enjoyed their visit, along with the new learning experiences and opportunities they were participating in on the day.

There will be no hot lunch orders on Monday the 14th (Prizegiving day). Please arrange for your child to bring a lunch to school on that day. Also as school closes at 12pm on Tuesday 15th there won’t be lunch orders on Tuesday either.
