Tēnā koutou tēnā koutou tēnā koutou katoa,

We have been so lucky with the weather lately.

It has meant that we have been able to have the Northalnd Football Association come into kura and take each class for football skills and development.

We have also had students from Tikipunga High School come in and take groups of senior students and teach them league skills.

It is important for children to get outside and take part in these activities as it teaches them social skills such as sportsmanship, turn taking and teamwork.

We are lucky to have these connections within our community who come in and support our school.

At school we use the Te Whare Tapa Wha Wellbeing Model to keep us healthy, both physically and emotionally, as it links to other programmes we run within school such as

  • The Zone of Regulation
  • Pause Breathe Smile
  • Bounce Back – Resliency

Just a reminder that it is Queen’s birthday on Monday the 7th of June which is a public holiday, so school will be closed.

Also on Tuesday the 8th of June we will be closed as it is a Teacher Only Day.

Staff will be having professional learning in digital technology. How to use computer programmes to support children’s learning.

The digital curriculum is about teaching children how to design their own digital solutions and become creators of, not just users of, digital technologies.

Go Kereru’s!

We have been having a large number of toys brought to school including poppets.

Unfortunately we have to ask that they not be brought to school as children are swapping and trading them. This is causing a lot of disruption to learning times as teachers try to sort out the problems which have developed.

Please keep toys at home where they are safe.

Free Couch

We have a surplus couch available to a family that would like it.

New owners must be able to collect it from the school and take it away themselves.

Oral Health

Here is a link to the oral health website where there is lots of information and online booking and enrolments available.

Yummy Sticker Promotion

This term our school is collecting yummy fruit stickers to qualify for free sports gear. Please send your yummy stickers and cut out labels in to the office. One cut out label is worth 10 apple stickers.
