Tēnā koutou tēnā koutou tēnā koutou katoa,

Our Whanau Korero (student led conferences) will take place on Wednesday 30th June (1:30 pm – 6pm) and Thursday 1 July (3:30 – 6pm). School will finish at 1pm on Wednesday but lunch will still be provided.

When you attend these conferences your child’s report will be shared with you and teachers will also share our new ‘real time’ reporting system with you. The new online system is called Spotlight – teachers will show you how it works and how you can access your child’s learning as it is updated by the teacher.

Bookings for the 15 minute appointments can be made via the skool loop app. Booking availability on the app will go live on Monday 21st June at 2.30pm.

If you are booking with multiple teachers please ensure you have enough time in between to walk to the classroom.

We value your input into your child’s learning and look forward to seeing you at the whanau korero.

Friday will be Whaea Mandy’s last day at our kura as she is retiring. She has had a very successful teaching career and the children who have crossed her path have had a very dedicated and hard working role model growing them in their learning. I would like to take this opportunity to formally thank her for the fantastic job she has done within our kura and we wish her all the best for the future. Thank you Whaea Mandy – we will miss you!!

Whaea Olivia who has just completed her teaching qualification will continue to teach room 6. Congratulations Whaea Olivia.

Free school lunch programme

This fortnight’s lunch menu:

Drop off zone

Just a reminder that we have the drop off zone which is accessed off Wairau Road. The car park off Corks Rd is a staff car park and is chained during the day.
In the mornings the drop off zone can be used as a carpark – you are welcome to park there and pop into school to the office or see your child’s teacher.
In the afternoon the angled spaces are not a parking space. Children must wait on the deck with their siblings until they see their car and the teachers let them go.
The bell at 2:55pm is for children to assemble at the collection points. They must wait there until the final bell rings at 3pm.

Scholastic Book Club

Any orders for the current scholastic book club brochure (issue #4, 2021) need to be back in to school by Friday, 25th June. Please return the order form with the child’s name, room number, selected books and the correct money owing. Orders past this date can be made directly online, however they won’t be delivered through the school and postage costs will be added to your order. https://www.scholastic.co.nz/parents/lucky-book-club/

Toys

We have been having a large number of toys brought to school including poppets.

Unfortunately we have to ask that they not be brought to school as children are swapping and trading them. This is causing a lot of disruption to learning times as teachers try to sort out the problems which have developed.

Please keep toys at home where they are safe.

Oral Health

Here is a link to the oral health website where there is lots of information and online booking and enrolments available.
