Wednesday 10th November 2021 No. 16
Tena koutou tena koutou tena koutou katoa
I am sure you are all aware of the government’s announcement to make vaccinations mandatory for everyone working in schools. This comes into effect on Monday the 15th of November.
Everyone who works for a kura who may have contact with children or students or will be present at a time when children are also present must have had a first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine by 15 November and be fully vaccinated by 1 January 2022.
From 1 January 2022, schools and kura must only allow those that are fully vaccinated to provide onsite services.
It also includes unpaid workers, such as volunteers and any members of the community who are regularly on site during a time when children may be present.
The vaccination requirements do not apply to parents coming into school to meet with staff, dropping off or picking up students or parent/teacher conferences.

Toys
We have been having a large number of toys brought to school including Pokemon cards.
Unfortunately we have to ask that they not be brought to school as children are swapping and trading them. This is causing a lot of disruption to learning times as teachers try to sort out the problems which develop.
