Te Kura o Tōtara Grove
Tōtara Grove School
Kia ora koutou
This week I would like to take the opportunity to thank and farewell our outgoing Board members Karen Poutai-Struginski, Bevan Lewis, Hale Atutolu and Patrick Moon. Michael McCartain who was also on the Board will be returning for another term. There is a lot involved in governing a school including financial management, property maintenance, personnel decisions and community liaison. These Board members have contributed a massive amount to the success of Totara Grove School through their diligent governance decisions and skills. The Board would also like to thank Ngaire Olley for her dedication and contribution as Board secretary.
School Boards are an important part of a school community and Karen, as the Presiding Member, has led the team and meetings well in a very professional and inclusive manner. The Board has always had the school and students best interests at heart and it has been a pleasure to work with them this term. I would also like to welcome and acknowledge our new Board members who will be joining Michael – Tania Davis, Carmel Edmonds, Tracey Reuben, and Fiona Watts. I look forward to working together with our new Board and please remember that any of you are always most welcome to come along to any of our Board meetings.
A big thank you to everyone for supporting the school’s fundraiser. It has been wonderful to see lots of tickets being sold to raise funds for an awesome new mural to adorn the wall of Room 14 by our drop off and pick up zone. Speaking of the drop off and pick up zone, it is great to see this being used by the majority of our whānau. We do highly encourage you to use this area off Okaihau Place to pick up and to drop off your children if you are driving them as it is a much safer space away from busy Corks Road.
Have a great week everyone.
Noho ora mai,
Sharon
