I hope everyone is doing well after Cyclone Gabrielle and the extreme weather conditions we experienced last week. We are very grateful to have calm weather again and to see the sun shining. Our students have settled so well back into school life again after school being closed for several days and I am so proud of them.
We have had a few celebrations throughout our school this week around attendance with some classes having 100% attendance!! This is fantastic!! Coming to school every day really helps students with their learning and with their ability to make connections and friendships with others. So, thank you whānau for getting your tamarki to school.
In a couple of weeks time, on the 7th and 9th of March we will be having a whānau korero night and are inviting all whānau to come in and meet with your child’s teacher. It’s a great opportunity to be involved in setting goals for the school year with your child and their teacher. We would normally have liked to do this earlier but unfortunately the bad weather delayed plans for this. When you come into school we would love some input from you around our learning programmes and teaching. We will also have staff available to answer any questions you may have about KiVa during this time. I look forward to seeing many of you here and we will have some spot prizes and free raffles on offer too!!
Take care everyone!
Noho ora mai,
Sharon
