Welcome to Term 4. It has been wonderful having all of our tamariki back at school this week. A very special welcome also to all of our new whānau who have started with us this term. We hope you all settle in well and enjoy your time at our kura. Please contact the office or your child’s teacher if you need further information about anything or if you have any questions.

Over the holidays, there was a lot of property work going on around our kura. This work is part of our property planning which the Ministry of Education allocates specific funding for so we are very grateful to receive this. Thank you very much to Grant, our amazing caretaker for being here each day to support the many contractors we had coming and going.

All of our electrical wiring was upgraded and much of our lighting replaced. A major job was the installation of the brand new turf outside Rooms 1-6. The turf looks amazing and I have included a couple of aerial photos of the turf below. Tamariki are really enjoying playing on the turf and especially like the letters and being able to find the letters in their names. The previous concrete was quite rough outside these classes so we are hoping to have less scraped knees now as well!

Our staff room was also updated with new carpet and furniture. Staff are loving the new set up and extra tables and seating we now have. Thank you to Michael McCartain, our Presiding Member, for his support with this too. I have included a couple of before and after photos to show you the difference. This is the first update the staffroom has had in many years and apparently the chairs we had were over 30 years old!

Have a great week everyone.
Mauri Ora!
