This morning we farewelled our Year 6s off to camp and it was so great to see the smiles and looks of excitement on their faces. What a special time it will be for them and I hope they all make wonderful memories that will last a lifetime. I am looking forward to attending the graduation ceremony we have for them at camp on Thursday evening and whānau are most welcome to come out to join us for this occasion as well. In the staffroom the other morning, a few of us were reminiscing about the camps we went on when we were at school. It was interesting to hear that we all remembered similar things like zooming down the flying fox and trying to toast our marshmallows on the camp fires without burning them or our fingers!
Other trips we have happening this term; our Year 4 and 5 teams will be heading to Whangaumu Wellingtons Bay for the day on Friday 29 November. This is a real fun day and families are most welcome to join us for the day or to pop out throughout the day to visit us. Our Year 2 and 3 students will be visiting Kiwi North on Wednesday 27 November and we have also added the train ride as an extra to this trip as well. Our Year 1 and New Entrant team will visit the Hundertwasser Art Centre on Wednesday 4 December. This trip was successful for our littlest students last year so it is great to be returning. These trips are never possible without parent help so on behalf of our team I would like to thank parents who are able to come along and support us. It is very much appreciated.
We now have a date confirmed for our end of year Prizegiving and this will be Thursday 5 December at 10am. This will be held at Tikipunga High School again this year and I look forward to seeing many of you there.
Have a fantastic week everyone.
