As our 2024 school year comes to an end, I would like to say a huge thank you to our wonderful whānau and community for always being so supportive of our school. I feel truly blessed to work in a community that is so kind, thoughtful and giving. We recently had an incident on one of our trips where the buses didn’t turn up to transport our tamariki to the beach. Thankfully, our whānau helped us to make this trip happen by all pitching in and working together to transport our children so they could have a fun day at the beach. Trips are never possible without whānau helping us and we really do appreciate all of the help we receive.
It was fantastic to see so many of you at our end of year prize giving last week. This was the end of an era for our kura in having this event at Tikipunga High School because from next year we will be in a position to hold large events like this on our own school grounds as we are getting a large outdoor canopy installed over the turf in our junior area of the school. If you are around the school over the summer holidays you will see this being installed from next week. Other holiday projects include interior upgrades to Rooms 3, 4, 5. 6, 10 and 11. Over the next year we intend to upgrade the interior of all classes which will be nice for our kaiako and tamariki.
A reminder that school will finish early at 12 noon this Friday. School lunch will be sent home on this day too.
I would like to wish our awesome Year 6 students all the best as they move onto their new schools and start the next chapter in their educational journeys. I would also like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. I look forward to seeing everyone again in 2025.
